Our Nature to Believe
It’s our nature to be condemned
Our nature to lose our voice
And forget about who we are
It’s our nature to pretend
Our nature to wear masks
When people are so unaccepting
It’s our nature to resist
Our nature to casts words
With actions to create a voice
It’s our nature to lose our way
Our nature to get lost
Yet find our way in the end
We speak in riddles
Emotions trap us
Fear confines us
Insecurity is our splinter
Yet in the darkest time
We believe in ourselves
Believe we can break
The overthrow of conflict
We believe enough to stand
Believe that standing tall
Sends a message of survival
We believe in holding
Eyes crafted
Made of glass
Memories
Lost in the past
Breathing aches
Yet awake
Reach ahead
A grasp for fate
Lingering...
Smiles spread
Grins alive
Misfortune
Things we hide
Faces painted
Underneath
Hanging on
We wear a sheath
Holding on...
Sparking life
Fires spread
Shadows grow
Ties of dread
Smothering
Pressing down
Kill the pain
Pass the frown
Waiting...
Standing tall
Wind behind
Clouds a spread
Of faith we climb
Breathing steady
Paths led
I stand alive
With word to spread
Misery sews patterns
Defeat's varied design
Granting birth to fight
A strength that we find
Misfortune is a wound
A splinter of the mind
Expiration is eventual
It breaks away with time
Benefits a blessing
Found along the way
Every darkened corner
Finds the light of day
Chance, a risk we own
A step will symbolize
Movement is a growth
Not measured by a size
Ache exists within
It's a common face
No matter who we are
Inside it has a place
Difference is a curse
It holds a common ground
Seeking understanding
With an unfamiliar sound
See past what we know
Listen with an open ear
Cast the blame aside
Lets put away the fear
Di
Scars set trails
Of an empty place
A tease to a mind
That hides its face
Twisted thoughts
With poisoned hopes
Each step reveals
At loss to cope
Steps feel plain
Inside is torn
Shadows inside
Since I was born
The mask is fresh
Was made today
Sitting alone
I can put it away
To sell ourselves
To chase the care
Betray ourselves
For someone there
The mark that bends
For out pretend
We lose ourselves
To seek a friend
Arrives the day
We come awake
Light will shine
No longer fake
Own ourselves
Learn to believe
One single step with
A heart on the sleeve
Nothing matters more
Then accepting who you are
Inside a pool of loss
Stitched in varied shade
Losing count of the costs
And the hopes as they caved
Grief, a skin I wear
With a taste for despair
I can’t seem to get away
Shadows wait, forever there
Eyes strain, wide-awake
Every breath I forsake
Worn smiles spread
While sewing thread to a fate
Holding on, I lie in wait
Carving holes inside of hate
I’m pressing on for more
As I clean a dirty slate
It’s that one step toward something new
Where breathing feels easy again.
Drips of despair
Thread my empty hopes
Leaving trails of loss
That never find their way
The absence of certainty
The lust for security
The holes that rest inside
That we cover in shame
The rubble of rusted trust
The scars of past wounds
The footprints of broken time
That leave an open gash
Won’t you take this hand
With a step toward unfamiliar
For the chance to live again
And put behind all that was

Wave Goodbye to the Sun
Each tear paints a portrait
A loss inside of me
A net cast out forever
From all that couldn't be
Sitting with my shadow
I trace the darkness still
My back's against the wall
And I breathe without a will
Choking for some air
My hearts a flood of grief
A pain is latched inside
With so much more underneath
Eyes misleading facts
The break inside is done
As I embrace my loss
And wave goodbye to the sun
This was written a while back. This is a tribute to writer’s carnival, a little something I put together for a laugh, and yes, I believe it to be funny. This is my personal experience with it told via fiction:
Fun fact: this story got me banned from the website.

It was another Friday night, Paina was at the computer typing away, doing what it did best, trolling. Paina was literally a troll, but that term, Internet troll, it’s the real deal, trolls “troll” on the Internet.

Scars engraved as stories
Tales that one has survived
Reminding that they are alive
Alive with a road to take
Dreams become purpose
With every step feeling frail
With every hope that’s set to sail
There is only moving forward
Leaving worthless things behind
The pools of fire in my eyes
I watch as the world burns
Knowing soon will be your turn
A smile knowing it
I can’t find the words
Hidden, lost, astray
The past a hymn of thoughts
Things I never got to say
The feelings twist inside
A noose around my heart
The darkness to a time
That never got to start
I’d walk a broken path
To pave a kind of way
Making sense of lost time
To grant the best today
I’d stare choice in the eye
And force fate to the nail
I’d chip away all that’s me
To grant the chance for hope to sail
I watch you as you sleep
I’m never very far
In a life of mystery
You are my shooting star
I count the moments
And trace the time
In every day with hope to find
A place to lead you
A hope to guide

I'm a professional writer. I've written on a large spread of topics, I have a natural gift to make something casual suddenly exciting (at least with words) Feel free to ask questions if you're curious about this.
I'm an open-minded, yet complex, person. Opinionated doesn't seem to quite cover it.
I like talking with people that are unique, after all, it would be so boring if we were all the same.
Favourite Movies
Horror
Favourite TV Shows
The Strain, Shameless, Billions, Banshee, Daredevil
Favourite Books
Too many to name, fiction and science fiction primarily.
Tools of the Trade
A sharp mind and a genuine commitment to think outside the box.
Other Interests
Martial arts, movies, real conversation, genuine people, sincere moments.
Retired from writing for work....can finally get back to doing it for the sake of passion.
About time...Wishing a happy holiday to anyone who happens to see this.
gradually becoming more functional with content I'm posting being revised. If you subscribed I'd appreciate it :) seanpmonaghan.com/ I'd also like to know if the subscription feature is working properly.
Hi, and welcome to theWrittenRevolution! There are lots of things you can get involved in:
we post monthly writing prompts (that include prizes, and a chat event during the month to help people with their pieces),
publishing opportunities from other sites (whenever we come across one!),
we have a monthly feature that includes a deserving member, two of the best critiques we've seen during the month, and two helpful writing resources,
a monthly affiliates feature of two Literature groups,
and a biweekly-ish article in which one of our admins gives an in-depth critique to one of our members' work that hasn't received much feedback.
We'll soon be reviving our chatroom with weekly activities, so stay tuned for that too.
We also have Facebook and Twitter accounts. On our profile page you will find links to the latest of all the activities I listed up here and to our social networks that will help you keep updated, so feel free to look around and ask if you have any questions, we're here to help!
